Windy Diving Day at Horsetooth Reservoir
Weather forecast: chance of wind.
50 degrees with a 30mph wind can make for some interesting diving conditions. Once we battled the waves and debris, the sink below the surface ended up beautiful.
The garden gnome greeted us around 50 feet, as the buoy on the surface caught the wind like a sail. Leaves "blew" underwater with the current of waves hitting the shore and returning back to the depths. Branches, tumbleweeds and other debris came to life in the rare current, making it feel like a living ocean reef.
Dive your local sites on varying days and weather (as long as it's safe), you never know what the wind might blow in!
