Search and Rescue Dive Dog Training

Diving. Dogs. Boats.

A dog training day with Larimer County Search and Rescue proved to be the perfect combination of all the good things in life. Several dogs from Colorado brought the energy to party, along with their talented handlers, boat captains and training leaders. Volunteer scuba divers assisted in the training by rewarding the dogs with their favorite toys and treats once the divers were “found”.

Incredible People

The talent and dedication of the LCSAR team is remarkable. Time and energy spent training these magnificent animals is a feat not conquered by any average dog owner. Each handler and dog team has a unique method of accomplishing search and rescue goals. Dogs “steer” the boat by using their nose and body movements as they work hard to locate their targets. Rewards for a successful find come in the form of hot dogs, cheese sticks and tug toys. Scuba divers were able to assist the dogs while enjoying the underwater scenes and aquatic life below the surface.

A Worthy Cause

These extraordinary men and women spend their personal time training and staying sharp with their skills to help the public in their time of need. Consider donating to this worthy cause if you feel inclined. Your assistance will support a generous and exceptional community, “so that others may live”.
