There’s Nothing to See in Aurora Reservoir

There’s nothing to see in Aurora Reservoir

– Scuba Divers

Mucky, Desert-Like Lake Bottom?

Or glorious ecosystem full of color and critters?

Simply put, there’s always something to see when you go scuba diving. Green algae, mucky mud, freshwater plants, freshwater creatures including the trout-favorite Chironomidae family and even some healthy walleye. Maybe it’s not the Caribbean with crystal clear water, colorful reef fish and water warm enough to warrant no exposure suit… but, there’s plenty to see. And, there’s a rainbow of colors if you look in the right spot.

There’s Nothing to See in Aurora Reservoir

Rarely do we have the opportunity to watch plant life grow underwater, but scuba diving in Aurora Reservoir allows you to do so. Rocks and muck and oddly shaped critters abound in this reservoir, making it a fun and enjoyable place to do some Colorado scuba diving during the spring, summer and fall months.

How many times have you been diving and found a toilet? Have you ever seen the dancing Chironomids? Swimming with elusive walleye in their natural habitat is a far greater thrill than one can imagine from shore. Lastly, watching two crawdads comparing their pincers to see who wins the battle of King Crawdad to impress the ladies – clearly, nothing to see here. Move along.
